For the foreseeable future, I think the answer is yes. It is unfortunate because everyone is looking for the “silver bullet” that can get them on the front page of Google but there is really no way to make this happen with out spending some “quality time” building links…and if you are looking for an easy alternative by outsourcing this overseas, forget it. They have thought this through and they have just the algorithm they need to make this futile. Google is too smart to let you stack up random links that are not real legitimate. Google has become much more sophisticated, they have devalued links that shouldn’t count, and are placing emphasis on trusted relevant links.

Links are still the basic connector, the basic relationship, on the Web. And for the forseeable future they’re going to be the easiest way for a computer program to judge the importance and trustworthiness of a web page. The only way you can get a link on someone else’s website is to submit a request via phone or online and hope they see merit in the idea of linking to your site. It takes two people to do this at a minimum and for the most part it is one fool proof way Google can get the rest of the world to judge the worth of your website.

Easy for google, difficult for you… if you need to enhance your google results. Contemporary Communications can help! Call me or Leonard to discuss further and we will give you some ideas (we are good at that!!) and even build you some links if you need us too!
